Sunrise Rotary Club of Plattsburgh has just learned that Capt "Rot" Ary was
spotted on the 3rd floor of CVPH late last night. Two night nurses reported to
have pursued a "man in black" after they came upon him with the silver cup over
his head hauntingly singing a very, loud, out-of-tune lullaby to the newborns,
causing many of them to cry. At one point the nurses managed to tackle Capt
"Rot" and regain the stolen Mayor's "Cup," but he proceeded to fend them off and
bolt down the stairwell with cup in tow. They could hear the ugly tune echo
long after they could see him.
The popular Mayor’s “Cup” is a sought after prize of many sailing crew who compete in the oldest and largest, international sailing regatta on Lake Champlain. From the shores of historic Plattsburgh, NY, the 32nd Annual Mayor’s Cup Regatta is a signature event of the 2009 Quadricentennial, international celebration of the 400th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain and his journey down Lake Champlain.
